Importing employees from Slack and setting up Kudos on Slack 

Let’s take a look at the steps for setting up Kudos on Slack after importing employees from Slack.

Step 1: Connect your Slack Integration

Start by navigating to the Account --> Integrations --> Slack. Click on the Connect button.

Verify Slack Admin Authorization. Confirm that you have the necessary Slack admin privileges. If you're not authorized, kindly contact your organization's Slack admin for assistance.

You'll be directed to an OAuth verification page. Review the details and click Allow to proceed.

You are now integrated with Slack!

Step 2: Import Employees from Slack

As soon as you integrate with Slack, you will be shown the import modal. Please note that importing your employees is optional; you can skip this step if required.

You may also go into the Slack integration page and toggle ON the "Import Employees" toggle.

You will have three options as shown below.

Option 1: Import all employees: All employees from your Slack workspace will be added into ThriveSparrow as employees and paid users of your plan.

Option 2: Import from selected channels: You can import only the members of the selected channels.

Option 3: Create a new channel with selected members from your Slack workspace and import them into ThriveSparrow.

Check "After import, send invites to join ThriveSparrow." to send invites to imported employees immediately.

Click on Import & continue. As per your selection, the imported employees will be added to the employee directory.

Step 3: Connect your Kudos channel on Slack

From the Slack integration page, click ON the toggle "Kudos on Slack".

Assuming you have already imported all employees from your Slack workspace into ThriveSparrow, you will be asked to either Create a new channel or Use an existing channel.

Create a New Channel:

Select the button to create a new Slack channel for Kudos and add a channel name.

You'll again have two choices:

• Add All Members to the Channel: Select this if you want to include all your Slack members in the channel. Configure the import settings for Slack, and click Save Settings to finalize.
  
• Add Only Selected Members to the Channel: Choose this if you prefer to select specific members to include in the channel. Configure the import settings for Slack, and click Save Settings to complete the setup.

Use an existing channel:

You will be prompted to select any existing public channel from your Slack workspace. Select a channel and click on Save Settings to proceed.

Can I still connect Kudos on Slack without importing any employees?

Now, on to the steps.

In case you have not already imported your employees from Slack, when you try to toggle ON Kudos on Slack, you will be prompted to Import Employees as per the previously described methods in order to continue.

If you select Import all employees, you will be able to select any kudos channel and continue using Kudos on Slack.

In case you chose to skip the import process altogether, then you will still be able to connect Kudos on Slack; however, only those employees that exist across both workspaces will be able to access kudos functionality like giving kudos points, receiving points, etc.

Reconnecting Slack with ThriveSparrow

In the event that you need to reconnect Slack with ThriveSparrow, you can simply click on Connect and authenticate your admin account to integrate again.
